just a quickie

So, I thought I would type up a quickie post. I just signed up to teach an Adult/Infant/Child CPR and First Aid class. Last November I took a class w/ the local chapert of American Red Cross to be a volunteer instructor. With all of lifes happenenings every time the call goes out for volunteers, my personal life schedule was always conflicting w/ their needs.

But today I was able to sign up and help teach a class on 9/6! Can't wait. Knowing CPR is something that we should all know and be very comfortable doing in an emergency! (Uncle Steve is a perfect example)

I am planning on later in September (9/20) teaching Jason and a friend of mine (the one who had the tree fall on her), if any of you would like to join, please let me know. Its a Saturday, so should be pretty easy to commit to. If that day doesn't work w/ you, talk w/ me and I'll see what we can do in Oct, Nov, Dec, etc. :-) But the sooner the better, just in case. :-)

Anyway, um thats it for now as my daycare kiddos will be waking up from their nap soon, so I should go clean up!

XOXO,
Becky

A bug I'm sick just thinking about.....

So Nate went to Boy Scout camp last week. He had fun until Wednesday. I guess the troop that came to camp the week before our boys brought in some kind of Norwalk virus!!!! And, yep 12 of our 35 boys that were there, contracted it! Nate included. He didn't get it as bad, but none the less he got it. He was in quarantine for 24 hours. Luckily he got it on Wednesday, and so that "hopefully" gave him time to get over it, and not be contagious. I hope!

I've spent several hours today w/ the Lysol can and wipes in hand, freaking out about every little thing I touch. I've washed my hands sever thousand times....and yelled at the kids to wash their hands twice as much! I really can't afford to get sick, not only for myself, but also for the little 3mo old baby that I have in care!

I've thought of closing the daycare down for a day, to clean up, as we didn't take the time yesterday. We went to the ocean instead, just for the day and it was fun. Long, boring drive, but fun once we got there.

Well, thats it for now....I'm off to clean some more! Love to all! ;-) Becky

One of my fears came true today!

I've always said that I hope I am never on the phone w/ someone when they get in a car accident. Well, that fear came true today. My friend was on her way back from the gym, and had called me to tell me how her grandma was doing (poor lady is in her 90's fell last night and broke her hip and shattered her pelvis!!) Anyway, we are talking, la-de-da....then all of a sudden there was a shattering noise, my friend screeming 2 times, then the phone went dead!

At first, I thought maybe she hit an animal or something. She is very sensitive that way. So I called her back, and as I was leaving her a message, she called me back. All in a panic, screaming, crying, rambling on something about glass, face, scared and needs her husband! I was able to calm her down enough to make sure she was okay. I asked if there was anyone around her that was able to call the police. She said yes, but was crying hystaricly (duh! I would be too). She told me that a tree had falling on her windshield and shattered glass all over her face. My friend is 7 1/2 months pregnant w/ their 3rd child (first boy) so naturally she was concerned about the baby. I told her I would call her husband, and get him to the hospital as soon as I could.

Only problem was that he was at home w/ her kids and their daycare kids (she runs a daycare too) and that I couldn't drive to their house, because I'm full (6 kids no room for them all in my car. So I called her hubby, told him what happend.

I just spoke w/ them, my friend is alright, but has masive amounts of glass in her face and cuts herself every time they try to remove it. Such a tragady. Praise God she and the baby are going to be okay!!! Just so darn scary!!!!!! There has been so much drama in this gals life. A few months ago, her mother fell off a horse and is now a quadroplegic (sp?), then w/ her grandmother breaking her hip last night and now this....WOW!

I would have to say that in the last 3 months my life has seen so much sadness and sorrow, hard times and all. I've found out of a couple of people that I knew once apon a time, have passed away. This drama w/ my friend, and another friends friend being killed when a tree he was triming fell and crushed him to death and with my uncle passing away, I honestly can't take any more sadness. I need happy good times again. I was looking at pictures last might before I went to bed. Of when Nate was a little guy (3-4 yrs old) how care free life was. I know that all these emotions are around us every day, but its really overwhelming right in the now. Know what I mean?

I'm just thankful that I am filled by Gods peace and the holy spirit!!! I can now see why those who are not saved may fall into depression, drug use, alcoholizm...yada yada yada! Life's tuff!

Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. Hope ya'll are having a good day! Be blessed, Becky

Life happenaings

Well, July came and went. I think in the history of my life it was the fastest yet. I started the month out w/ a happy forth of July bang. Nate wasn't in town, busy on a boy scout hike/camp out. Then on the 9th, Jason and I celebrated out 15th wedding anniversary w/ a trip to Seattle to watch the Foo Fighters in concert. Good times, really for me it was more about people watching, as I haven't paid any attention to the foo fighters since the late 90's. Saying it that way sounds like so long ago. :-)

Then on the 14th of July I started 2 new kids (brother and sister, 2 mo. & 4yrs old), and delt w/ Jason being out of town on business. Everything was going well, it was Friday 7/18, mom and grandma came out to take the girls for the night, to give me some refresh time. Nate was all set to go on ANOTHER boy scout outing (this time for a 50 mile bike ride over in E. WA.) Nate and I went out to watch a movie when I got the call that uncle steve had his heart attack.

I was going to replay everything over and type it all here, but really it is what it is. We know the out come.....R.I.P. Uncle Steve. You were a great man, and during the times I needed you, you were there. A father figure when I needed, a friend as well. And that seems to be the story that I've heard from everyone over the last 3 weeks. Can't believe that 3 weeks went by so fast....but I'm glad that I got to spend alot of time w/ my family. I've stared at pictures of Steve so many times, and in every one there was always some kind of smile. Either a "why are you taking my picture?" smile or "I'm really having fun" or "I'd rather be somewhere else"....doesn't matter what was going on, Steve always had a smile on his face!!!! What a happy person he was. I will always miss you....but have peace in my heart knowing that you are now in heaven.

Okay, so now changing the subject a little. I'd like to say hi to Ted, Jenny and everyone else who is stopping by to read my notes. :-) I told you I would....hee hee hee!

So Nate is on another boy scout function. He's at their "camp"....over in Idaho. Hope he is having fun! This troop is a very active troop.....when they get back from camp, there are already plans for them to have 4 more campout/hikes for the month of August! Sorry, Nate we wont be doing any of that. Jason and I thought it would be nice to drive out to the ocean one day (maybe next weekend). We are planing a family camping trip on Labor Day weekend though. Going down to camp near Mt. St. Helens. I've never in all my 30 yrs of living in Washington, gone down to see Mt. St. Helens. So, this summer thats what we're doing. Can't wait. Not sure if I'm looking forward to having that much time off (5 day weekend) or actually camping?!? either way it will be a good time.

Well, I've rambled on enough....think I should put up some pictures.....enjoy, thanks for reading and have a blessed day! Hugs, kisses and love.....Becky

Okay, here's the story w/ the tat. It had been 13yrs since my last tattoo. Yes it took my that long to decide what I wanted to get. So, the weekend before Uncle Steve had his heart attack, I had made up my mind that this is what I was going to get. So when I went down to get my tat, I had wanted to add in uncle Steve's initials, just kind of my own way to express my memory of him. Like the butterfly, Steve's passing is symbolic to the changes in life that even though may be tragic and hard, something beautiful can come from it. So if you look close enough you will see "SDW" in the lower right wing of my beautiful butterfly.

Here is a picture of Nate. Not the greatest, but that's what happens when you catch them off gaurd. You get silly face pictures. We were waiting for Jason to finish his run at the "Whale of a Run" for Whaling days in Silverdale. There was nice weather, and next year, we are all going to do the run. :-) Yes, even Sam and Kaitie.

Here is Jason finishing his run.....couldn't let his co-worker beat him! Came in just a hair faster. :-)

Check out my Sammy. No matter what she's doing, she always has time for a photo op! Silly girl.

The sun was in Kaitie's eyes a little.....hence the squinting. :-)
Okay, this one gets me! Sam built this "wedding" for herself. yes folks, this is where sammy is going to get married. Oh boy, can't wait to show her this when she really does get married. :-) This will save me some $$$$$

Okay, I'm down now. I'll try and write more often, so I don't have to post so much at one time!
God Bless! Becky

Summer is here...

Just to throw some fun in the mix, here is a picture of Sam and Kaitie dressing up!

Yay! I'm so excited that summer has finaly arrived. The sun, the warm air.....getting to spend more time outside! I love it.

Yesterday Jason's work had a "family fun fest" music, good food, friends, paddle boats on the water. What a blast. They had a bounce house for the kids....just an all around good time. :-)

Here's a picture of the kids and I on the paddle boat!

Last week we went to the park and kicked the soccer ball around w/ the kids. Okay I ended up watching mostly as Kaitie decided that she wanted to snuggle. :-) I love having a snuggle bug!

Here's a picture of Jason, Nate and Sammy playing soccer.

Today, Nate and Jason are on a 25 mile bike ride up near Port Angeles....boy scouting has made them very active these last couple of months.
Sammy has a friend over today, they were playing in the sprinkler....now they are resting. Oh, is this a glimps into my future?! Girls laying out in the sun to catch some rays? Days like to day, make me want to live in California again.....I love the weather, just not the cost of living. Jason found out the other day that his resume was pulled for a possible job in Kauai, HI! I love that Island....I know its expensive as well....but just think of the vitiman D I could get! Ha ha ha...
I've got two new kiddos starting at the daycare in a couple of weeks. A brother and sister ages 2mo and 4yrs. That leaves me w/ 1 spot open (don't worry, I'm not in a hurry to fill it) as my ideal kid/me ratio is kind of low. Trying to keep my sanity! :-) I love the older ages stage I'm going into. Hoping that come this fall, I can incorporate more of a preschool ciriculum. Kaitie will really benefit from it.
Okay, guess I've rambled on enough, the girls are asking for water balloons! Yippie....I love summer time! :-)
Hugs and loves!

Sammy's Dance Recital

Sorry the picture is a bit blurry. But here is Sammy at her dance recital this last weekend. She was a "Boogie Woogie Piggie" and a "Dancing Poodle" it was cute. I've posted a 3min video as well. Sammy is the dancer that ends up being the one right in the middle of the screen.

Enjoy!

My hubby comes home today

Here is a picture of "me and my gang" at the Rascal Flatts concert in April. What a fun night that was!
I'm so excited, its 2:15pm and the hubby's plane lands in 15 minutes! I've missed him so much. This is the first time for him to be gone that I wasn't totally stressed out, its just that we get along so well, that I miss his company.

My "vacation" has been great, except the first couple of days sucked. I ended up in the ER w/ a possible (that was ruled out) appendisitis. Ya, thats never any fun, but imagine that w/ the hubby out of town, taking care of 3 kids and knowing that you have to close your daycare because your back up is out of town. Anyway, I'm feeling better and so is Sam, think I've got some personal "female" issues to get cleared up and I'll be just fine.

Well, I will right more later, as this site said it would be down at 3pm and I want to make sure that all I've typed gets uploaded. :-)

Thanks for hangin' in there with me......Hope to write more about my excersing, or lack there of. :-) lol

Welcome to my new place.....

I've been using a place called "my" space....and I'm thinking that its time to move on....a place where I can stand out and truely be me. I feel sometimes that "other" place is more of a contest. So I'm here. Look forward to many good times, blogs, conversations....and just being me.

I hope to have a good following....if not, then not and its more of a personal outlet for me to let off some steam....hmm, anyway.

Cheers, thanks for reading and hope to get more good stuff up here soon!
